Responsibilities of Staff Nurse Jobs in Galway
- Deliver direct care that is both efficient and effective to patients of Vhi Hospital @ Home.
- Contribute positively to the organization on a daily basis.
- Observe the policies and procedures of Vhi Hospital @ Home and the professional code established by the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland in your professional conduct.
- Ensure patient safety by performing at the highest clinical standards possible by abiding by the clinical policies and procedures of Vhi Hospital @ Home.
- Supervise the timely implementation of care plans for each patient and provide the clinical nurse manager with updates on any patient health changes.
- Maintain both teamwork and independent initiative.
- Actively engage as a member of the multidisciplinary team in all facets pertaining to the provision of patient care.
- Attend required team meetings.
- It is imperative to sustain professional registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland and furnish substantiating documentation of such registration annually, or as soon as the Vhi Hospital @ Home team so requests.
- Participate in in-house and external continuing medical education courses and sessions in order to meet and improve the quality of service rendered.
- Engage in the process of care plan development.
- Engage in collaborative efforts with the Clinical Nurse Manager to develop and execute patient care plans.
- Assist in the identification, development, and execution of educational programs for clients and/or staff.
- Conduct clinical audits per the Clinical Nurse Manager or Senior Nurse Manager’s directive.
- The evening before each shift, the Clinical Nurse Manager conducts a review of the appointments allotted for that day.
- Deliver the transfer to fellow community staff nurses at the conclusion of the scheduled workday, or the day after if absent from duty.
- Establish daily workload priorities and allocate resources accordingly.
- Maintain up-to-date records regarding the health condition of the patient assigned to them and report to the Clinical Nurse Manager and Vhi Hospital @ Home Community Physician.
- Support the multidisciplinary teams and patients in their efforts to ensure continuity of care.
- During each patient visit, assess their vital signs.
- Venepuncture and cannulation, as required, must be performed to the utmost clinical standards.
- Maintain CVAD line access in accordance with protocol
- Operating throughout all H&W Services, including Medical Screening and H@H
