WHERE YOU WILL WORK:

The Division of Statewide Community-Based Services of the Department of Elder Affairs is responsible for delivering the majority of direct services. This division collaborates with local service providers and the eleven Area Agencies on Ageing of the State to ensure that a critical segment of the population receives these services.

Due to their level of infirmity, DOEA’s primary objective is to provide home and community-based services to seniors who are at risk of being admitted to a long-term care facility. The ultimate objective is to maximize resource utilization so that a significant proportion of elderly individuals can have a say in their housing decisions while simultaneously leading active, healthy, and satisfying lives within their respective communities.

WHAT YOU WILL DO:

Duties and Responsibilities of Caregiver Jobs in Florida

  • Assists physicians and other specialized professionals in the deliberation of Title XIX Level of Care decisions as a member of an interdisciplinary team. Maintains precise and current medical records on clients by consistently documenting casework activities. Ensures the timely and accurate collection and reporting of data.
  • ensures that the Preadmission Screening and Resident Review (PASRR) procedure is fully executed before the issuance of a Level of Care in response to a psychiatric hospital, state mental hospital, or psychiatric hospital unit request.
  • engages in the oversight of case placement decisions during the annual recertification process; maintains communication with pertinent providers and the long-term care network to verify that the recommended program and level of care are consistent with the case at hand.
