A full-spectrum core faculty position including OB and inpatient medicine is available at an established 8-8-8 Family Medicine Residency Program in Phoenix, Arizona.

District Medical Group and the Creighton University Phoenix Family Medicine Residency are pleased to announce the appointment.

This post will involve leading and overseeing inpatient and outpatient care in addition to managing residents and students as attendings in the hospital and the outpatient clinic continuity clinic. Reports from this position will be sent to the Program Director of the Family Medicine Residency Clinic.

The ideal candidate will share our dedication to enhancing Creighton University’s and the Residency Program’s academic objectives while also giving back to the community. Interested physicians must demonstrate a strong commitment to pursuing graduate medical education. They ought to be qualified to teach and mentor residents and medical students in all areas of family medicine, including the treatment of expectant patients.

In addition to instructing medical students, the position will enable the holder to support the expansion of family medicine at the prospective Phoenix location of Creighton University School of Medicine. As per the ACGME guidelines, the post involves not only academic and administrative responsibilities but also direct patient care, curriculum development, precepting, teaching by residents and medical students, and administration. On weekends and at night, call service is required. Proctoring is available.

Academic:

  • Prepare and present lectures for medical students and residents’ didactic teaching as assigned.

Knowledge and/or expertise 

This position requires a master’s or doctorate. The candidate has to have health insurance coverage, a current, unrestricted Arizona driver’s license, and a current DEA license for schedule 2–5 drugs. requires board eligibility or certification in the family medicine care specialty. Candidates should have a strong background in patient-centered care delivery and a strong passion for teaching family medicine. Successful candidates will have great verbal and written communication skills, a collaborative and entrepreneurial spirit, and a desire to work in interdisciplinary and interprofessional teams.

The FQHCs are qualified for the Federal HPSA Loan Repayment Program with a system score of 21.
