  • Facilitate groups or conduct training for educational or support objectives;
  • Perform family evaluations for potential foster, adoptive, or extended family caregivers;
  • Provide maintenance and post-placement support while facilitating placements;
  • Offering assistance to caregivers in formulating plans that prioritize the best interests of children and establishing the necessary support systems;
  • Prepare and strategize with foster parents or caregivers in anticipation of the child’s repatriation.
  • Serve as a liaison and consultant with FNCFS and other community agencies, as needed, regarding decisions about children and service delivery for caregivers; and
  • Maintain documentation in adherence to the standards of professionalism.

  • To be eligible for this position, candidates must hold one of the following credentials: a Bachelor of Social Work or Bachelor of Indigenous Social Work degree from an institution that has received accreditation from the SASW, CASW, or CASWE
  • a Human Service Degree* accompanied by pertinent practical experience

  • Human service degrees consist of a Bachelor of Science in Nursing/Psychiatric Nursing or a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology and/or Psychology, Education, Human Justice, or Indigenous Studies, in addition to pertinent professional experience.
