Detailed job description and main responsibilities

  • Responsible for performing a variety of assigned duties, some of which will entail providing direct care, while operating under the guidance and supervision of a registered nurse.
  • This will involve providing support in attending to patients’ comfort and hygiene requirements, such as aiding with bathing and grooming, oral hygiene, escorting to the restroom, assisting with bedpans and commodes, making beds, and managing soiled linen in compliance with established protocols.
  • Providing medication assistance to patients, including nebulizer usage, while under the supervision of registered staff.
  • Assisting the registered staff with patient fluid balance charts and taking and recording patients’ temperature, pulse, respiration, and blood pressure
  • Providing support in attending to patients’ dietary requirements by distributing meals and beverages and assisting them with eating and drinking as needed.
  • Contribute effectively to the multidisciplinary team’s efforts.
  • Support the registered nurse by performing clinical and non-clinical duties subsequent to completing the necessary training and evaluation.
