Position Overview

Assigned to the Clinical Manager, the Registered Nurse (RN), the Registered Psychiatric Nurse (RPN), and/or the Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN), the Health Care Aide (HCA) assists with patient and resident care and administers basic supportive care as directed. As a member of the health care team, the HCA is subject to general supervision.

Experience

  • Consideration will be given to recent patient care experience (within the last four years) or its equivalent.

Education (Degree/Diploma/Certificate)

  • A Health Care Aide Certificate from an accredited college or educational institution
  • a grade 12 diploma (or its equivalent) is mandatory.

Certification/Licensure/Registration

  • CPR training for family and friends is mandatory.
  • Annual recertification in Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) is mandatory for personnel working in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) and Urgent Care. Certification must be attained two months after the position is assumed.
