  • Preoperative testing entails performing examination and treatment-related assessments and aiding in the consent appointment procedure, which includes furnishing patients with pertinent information preceding their IOL or LVC procedure.
  • Discharging the patient; providing preoperative and postoperative instructions regarding eye care; maintaining accurate medical records; scheduling follow-up appointments.
  • As a laser technician, you are responsible for the following: laser preparation and calibration, data comprehension, data encoding and transfer, and laser operation safety.
  • Coordination entails managing inquiries and regulating patient flow on the day of consent and surgery appointments to guarantee minimal patient wait times.
  • Participating in consent appointments and treatments alongside the surgeon by serving as a scrub assistant (LVC only), taking notes, and administering ocular drops.
  • Performing the duties of an HCA in the IOL theatre, including decontaminating instruments and assisting the surgical team and patients throughout the procedure.
  • Contributing actively to the activities of the end of the treatment day, including filing, updating patient files, organizing ‘end of day’ reports for the headquarters, maintaining a spotless department, and ordering supplies and lenses.
  • Taking an active role in patient safety issues and quality and risk management by reporting adverse incidents.
