What You’ll Be Doing:

You will make a significant impact on the lives of residents while working in a fast-paced environment as a valued member of the long-term care team in the community. You will develop a profound understanding of your residents and their living experiences as a personal support worker. By cultivating connections with the residents and their family members, you will provide them with a diverse range of program options and support services that enhance their day-to-day health and overall welfare. How You’ll Succeed

1. Offer resident assistance and supervision.

  • Assist residents with activities of daily living, such as dressing, dining, grooming, and maintaining personal hygiene, by their individualized care plans.

2. Deliver care and services to residents

  • Assist residents with communication and connections by promoting the use of prescribed sensory aids (e.g., hearing aids, glasses, and more), administering specific medications (with the oversight of a registered health professional), and ensuring residents have easy and constant access to mobility or assistive devices (e.g., walkers, call bells, and so forth).

3. Promote the comfort and well-being of residents.

  • In addition to dental and oral care, offer continuous social, emotional, cognitive, and spiritual support.
  • Encourage residents to participate individually or in groups in programs offered by the Resident Experience Team.

Who You Are:

  • You are empathetic and committed to doing significant work that enables seniors to live their lives to the fullest.
  • You are either a graduate of an accredited private or collegiate program for personal support workers or an internationally educated nurse with a nursing degree.
  • You are meticulous and well-versed in the techniques and procedures required to administer uncomplicated treatments; furthermore, you are capable of providing bedside care to residents.
  • One demonstrates tact and diplomacy when interacting with senior citizens, their families, and casual visitors.
